Description
The Financial Planning & Analysis Manger, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, is a key strategic institutional partner whose primary objective is to build and maintain a world class financial control, planning and analysis organization that is committed to the core values of service, transparency, accuracy, timeliness, and data-driven decision making.
Advises senior University leadership regarding the efficient and effective distribution of resources, and ensures that resources are optimized in support of the academic and administrative priorities of the University. Towards this end, develops business plans and pro forma financial projections in support of a broad array of academic and administrative initiatives. Also develops complex financial analyses and reports; develops and maintains multi-year forecasts; cash flow forecasts; and conducts retrospective financial reviews of program plans.
Responsible for the financial planning cycle for the University including: oversight of the annual internal budget planning process; and communication to the community regarding the financial planning cycle and related processes. Develops and maintains multi-year forecasts. Monitors and analyzes actual performance relative to budgets, projections, and forecasts. In partnership with other financial offices, develops a robust financial control and reporting framework for the University and its operating units that meets the needs of the University, including executive leadership and academic and administrative departmental leaders. Ensures that framework meets the needs of a matrixed organization and incorporates non-financial data and metrics as required to support regular academic and administrative productivity assessment.
Provides outreach and support to all levels of administrative staff and leadership on development of financial plans and analyses. Develops and communicates efficient and transparent financial business processes that address departmental needs while also supporting the overall goals and priorities of the University. Serves as a process improvement sponsor as necessary and appropriate.
Leads and manages budget, planning, and analysis staff and Bursar staff including recruiting, retaining, and developing individual staff member. Develops succession plans, identifies professional development opportunities, and ensures that staff are crossed trained.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 5 years experience in budgeting and finance in a university setting, first-hand experience in creating multi-year financial pro-forma for student housing, dining, mixed usage facilities, long-term leases, what-if-analyses and projected financial statements.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of VBA Excel Programming to generate and disburse automated reports. Knowledge of Workday Adaptive planning software preferred. Knowledge of SQL report writing preferred. MBA, CPA, or equivalent
